The Viola started with a 2-0 victory over Milan, but fumbled a lead to lose 3-1 at Torino.

“Over the last few days we all gave our opinion on what happened against Torino, including our Coach,” Astori told Mediaset Premium.

“We are ready to get back on track. I arrived very late in the transfer session and did a lot of individual training, so now I’m in good shape and raring to help the team.”

Ultras placed insulting banners outside the training ground, protesting the club had been weak on the transfer market.

“We want to wash away the scepticism of the fans,” continued Astori.

“The very least we must achieve is Europa League qualification, but we are a team who can surprise people.

“As for myself, I firmly believe in my chances of playing for Italy at Euro 2016. There’s a lot of competition in defence, but I think Fiorentina can help me earn a call from Antonio Conte.”
