Today FIFA confirmed what had already been known for months, that they made a formal protest for breach of contract and want the Egypt international to be banned.

He arrived in January 2015 on loan with option to extend for another year and the Viola paid €1m to Chelsea to activate it, but then the player refused to attend training and pushed through a different loan move to Roma.

“For every action, there will be a reaction, as long as we’re not bored,” wrote Salah’s representative Ramy Abbas on Twitter.

“They said the ITC couldn’t go back to England. It did. They said he would be suspended. He wasn’t. They said he couldn’t play in Italy. He did.

“They said he couldn’t be registered to play for AS Roma. He was. They say he will be suspended in December. He won’t be. In December they will say he will be suspended in June. He won’t be. In June, they won’t say anything as they will have other things to worry about.”

Abbas then sent a message to the Stadio Artemio Franchi side, who saw protests from their fans for a poor transfer strategy.

“Salah never mentions you! Why do you talk about him in every press conference? Scared of your fans?

“When did Salah ever say anything negative in public about Fiorentina? You keep uttering the word ‘suspension’ every chance you get.”
