Roma defender Kostas Manolas believes the draw with Barcelona was ‘an important step’ for the club.
The Giallorossi drew 1-1 with the holders in the Champions League on Wednesday, and the Greek international praised the tactical performance.
“We played well,” Manolas told Sky.
“Against Barcelona we played a great game on a tactical level. We’ve been doing well in defence, especially on Wednesday, and I think it’s an important step for the team.”
The Lupi were beaten 7-1 at home by Bayern Munich in the competition last season, so the draw with Barça is being seen as a sign of their maturity.
