Coach Fabrizio Castori recognizes Fiorentina’s ‘strength’ but believes his newly-promoted Carpi can aim for victory.

Castori’s team picked up only one point in the first three games, but the 61-year-old is confident they can turn things around against the Viola, tomorrow at 5p.m. UK time.

“I’m used to looking at my own team and I’ll say this: although we respect the strength and the prestige of our opponents, we want to grasp victory, which would give us an immense push in the standings and would boost our confidence.

“We’re aware of having grown greatly since the beginning of the championship.

“Earning a prestigious victory against a very strong team would certainly be a great step forward.

“We prepared ourselves well this week but we must play our own game, as Carpi.

“We are a team that plays at an intense pace, with great determination and drive, and especially with a great heart.

“Our performances are improving. Our second half against Sampdoria already saw us doing well, and against Inter and against Palermo we did even better. The team has matured.

“In Serie A, details make the difference. Even half-mistakes will be paid for.”
