“I have to really praise the team for what they were able to do in the second half. We deserved to draw this game.

“I must also thank the crowd, as despite being 3-0 down, our fans continued to cheer us on. We made some costly errors, were coming off three consecutive defeats and it wasn’t easy to react after going 2-0 down so early.

“I don’t know how many teams would’ve been able to put that match back on track.”

The fact remains Udinese have now lost four on the bounce, including six consecutive home fixtures.

Gigi Del Neri was in the stands this evening and patron Gino Pozzo told reporters “my patience has limits.”
