“If we think that Juventus and Roma, who were tipped to win the Scudetto, are mid-table… This rollercoaster of results is also down to the fact there are teams who have improved a great deal and given a sense of consistency to their projects, such as Torino, Sassuolo and Atalanta.
“Serie A is the most difficult League in the world, which is why we can beat Roma and lose to Atalanta in the same week.”
Inter are joint top of the table with Fiorentina, but a run of five straight victories was ended by their 4-1 home humiliation.
“Inter lost against Fiorentina due to incidents that completely changed the course of the game. Similarly, we didn’t go to Bergamo intending to play stretched out and remissive, but incidents prompted us to change our approach.
“It’s true that we have better results at home, but also true we have fantastic fans who help push us on. You have to earn your slice of good fortune too and we probably give a little more intensity at home.”
Cassano will be facing his former club and is still trying to make an impact for Samp.
“Antonio has character and charisma, plus the great talent of being able to see passes where others don’t.
“What condition is he in? He could even play from the start. We are increasingly confident of seeing Cassano at 100 per cent fitness and at that point our opponents had better watch out.
“He already gave us one victory over a former club last week.”
