Giacomo Bonaventura’s Italy call takes him closer to his “dream” of playing at Euro 2016, according to his agent.
The Milan midfielder has been called-up by Azzurri CT Antonio Conte after Lorenzo Insigne withdrew from the squad with injury earlier today.
“From a personal point of view, it’s the continuation of a positive period for him,” Giocondo Martorelli told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Unfortunately that hasn’t been matched by Milan’s results. If you look at Giacomo, his performances have been positive, and that’s been taken into account with this call-up from Conte.
“I’m sorry for Insigne, I admire and respect him, he’s an exceptional player. However, the esteem Conte has for Giacomo goes beyond the injury the Napoli player suffered.
“The Euros? Sure, of course that’s the dream. Giacomo knows that his performance on Saturday could lead to that coveted call-up for the Euros.”
