President Aurelio De Laurentiis clarifies that Napoli 'never exercised any pressure' for Lorenzo Insigne to leave the Azzurri.

The Napoli fantasista was in fabulous form, but recently had to leave his place to Milan's Giacomo Bonaventura due to a knee injury.

“Yesterday they removed the liquid from his knee,” De Laurentiis told Radio Blu.

“We didn't exercise any pressure to make him come back to Napoli.

“What the Italy doctors said must be taken as official.

“The player overstrained himself during his training with the national team and his knee swelled, so the Coverciano medical staff asked our staff for authorisation [to send him back].”
