It’s reported that Juventus striker Alvaro Morata rejected the opportunity to return to Real Madrid this summer.

The forward arrived in Turin from Los Merengues in 2014, though the Spanish side retained a buyback clause.

That clause does not become active until summer 2016, but Calciomercato reports that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez tried to bring him back this summer.

The website believes that Madrid made enquiries, but were rejected by both the club and the player, with the latter preferring to continue his development in Turin.

The Old Lady could still lose Morata this summer, though the player’s agent has stated that his client will only return to Bernabeu if he wants to.

The clause could be worth up to €30m, depending on the number of matches the Spaniard plays for Juve this season.
