“I am satisfied with the performances so far, although we’re missing one or two points. Now some of the injuries have gone, we can become more prolific and clinical in attack.
“How much we improve over the next few games will dictate what our objectives are this season. We’re more confident going into matches and intend to make the most of the choices we made this summer.
“Some players are still settling in, like Diego Capel, Lazovic and Serge Gakpe, while Leonardo Pavoletti’s fitness levels are improving. Unfortunately Goran Pandev is still suspended.”
While Genoa have stuttered, Chievo are one of the surprise outfits this season and are on a par with Napoli on 12 points.
“Chievo have had an excellent start to the campaign and built on the good results they had towards the end of last season.
“They maintained the same tempo and standard of performances, but we too are building momentum after beating Milan and drawing in Udine.
“I expect a difficult match, but we must rely on our motivation to leap up the table.”
Cristian Ansaldi is still injured and Pandev banned, but Tino Costa is passed fit.
