Edinson Cavani tips Napoli for the Scudetto, and doesn’t rule out returning one day.
The striker left the Partenopei in 2013 to join Paris Saint-Germain, but retains a strong bond with his former club.
“Would I go back to Italy?” Cavani considered, speaking to Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
“Sure. For us players the future is unpredictable, I’d go back to where I had three fantastics seasons which allowed me to come to Paris.
“Napoli? Why not? Here in Paris, I always watch Napoli on TV, when it fits in with training commitments and our own games.
“I must confess, this year I’m passionate, I feel very happy to see the team playing well, having fun and getting results.
“I still have a lot of friends in Naples, it’s a city which remains in my heart. Really, I’m very happy.
“I think Napoli can easily fight for the top of the table, they have great players in the team and an organisation which I really like.
“I seriously hope it can be their year, they’re playing better than all their competitors.”
Gonzalo Higuain was bought with the money raised by Cavani’s move to France, but the Uruguayan sees himself as a different player.
“We’re different players, I don’t think you can make a comparison. He’s a champion, Napoli have the best foreign striker in Italy.
“To those who make comparisons, I say this: embrace Higuain, he’s very strong.”
