Hernanes brushes off Andrea Pirlo comparisons - “I want to write my own history at Juventus.”
The Brazilian joined the Bianconeri from Inter on transfer deadline day, and his style has been compared to the legendary regista, who departed Turin this summer.
“Pirlo is a player with a beautiful history at Juventus and in Italian football,” Hernanes told Diario de Pernambuco.
“It would be wrong of me to try and compare myself to him. I’m happy to have the opportunity to play the role he did, and I feel prepared to do well, but I want to write my own history at Juventus.”
Hernanes also spoke about the opportunity to play in the Champions League, a competition he never experienced with Inter or Lazio.
“Competing in the Champions League has always been a goal, a dream, and now I’m getting the opportunity to realise it.
“I think everything happens at the right time, and this chance has come along exactly at the time when I feel I’m at my peak physically, technically and mentally.”
