Manolo Gabbiadini said he’s just “doing my duty” with a brace as Napoli won 4-1 away to Midtjylland.

The striker made a rare start and netted twice in Denmark for the third consecutive Europa League victory.

“It was an important win and I am satisfied,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Does this silence controversy? I never read the papers or what anyone else says. I just focus on doing my duty.

“There’s a lot of players here who deserve to play and I make sure I am ready when called upon. I am concentrated.

“Even if this had been a friendly, we’d have still put in the same attitude and effort. It wasn’t an easy atmosphere and it’s much colder than in Naples, so we weren’t accustomed to the conditions.”

Napoli are practically qualified for the knockouts, as they are three points clear of Midtjylland at the top of the group and a staggering eight points ahead of third place.

In all competition, the Partenopei have won seven of their last eight games, scoring 24 goals and conceding three.
