The Blucerchiati are experiencing a bit of a delicate moment after the 2-0 defeat to Frosinone last week, and they'll be looking to make up for it today.

“Football includes bad games and defeats,” said the Coach. “If we think of every loss as a tragedy, then we're ruined.

“I think we did well against Frosinone. The difference between those who judge matches and those who work to make them happen is that we're the ones who really watch them.

“Often those who judge the matches don't even watch them. And to be honest, I didn't like the last 25 minutes of our previous game one bit.

“I expect Sampdoria to be a team that wants to play football, but this game is going to be hard.

“I said that I wouldn't have any rotation in my squad in September. Each to their own philosophy, but I think that when you start a championship and then stop after two days, then changing your squad becomes redundant.

“In October things change, the injuries pick up. The 4-4-2 this week was mainly so I could have the players where it would be most logical to play them.”

The game against Verona will be the opportunity for Cassano to meet one of his old Blucerchiati colleagues, Pazzini.

“I spoke with Pazzini before to see if he wanted to come back here. I found a lad full of passion for his job.

“But then, Antonio always wanted to come back too. He showed some gorgeous things against Frosinone too.

“My regret is not having been able to give space to [Federico] Bonazzoli yet, who was an important investment for the club.”
