The Viola lost 2-1 on home turf and with it the status of Serie A leaders.

“Some decisions were not the best and we have to improve on certain incidents, but we took the initiative throughout,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Not only did we dominate possession, but we also created more scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we did not finish them, but I do like to have a courageous team that always goes forward.

“Even if we do not win, we always manage to dominate our opponents.”

Including the Europa League, this is Fiorentina’s third consecutive defeat in the space of a week and all of them by 2-1 results. Is Sousa worried?

“We took on a team that is a candidate for the Scudetto and they deserved their result, but we played with courage.

“Of the sides we’ve faced so far this season, I’d say Napoli are the ones who caused us the most problems.”
