Mohamed Salah has received a one-game suspension after being sent off in Roma’s win over Fiorentina.
The winger scored the opener on an acrimonious return to his old stomping ground, but was later given two yellow cards, first for a foul and then for dissent.
The Lega Serie A has confirmed that the on-loan Chelsea man has been handed a one-match ban for a foul and “protesting to the match officials”.
Sassuolo’s Andrea Consigli, Lorenzo Lollo of Carpi, Inter defender Jeison Murillo and Rafael Tolloi of Atalanta also face a game on the sidelines after their respective red cards.
Salah’s Roma teammate Daniele De Rossi will also serve a one-game suspension after picking up a fifth yellow card of the campaign.
The Giallorossi have also picked up a fine of €5,000 for delaying the start of the match and the second half.
Palermo have been hit with a €3,000 sanction after fans sang insulting songs about the match referee, while Udinese have been given the same fine after ball-boys were deemed to be time-wasting.
