Mauro Icardi celebrated Inter’s victory in Bologna, but admits “I don’t get much service.”

The centre-forward got his third goal of the campaign to give 10-man Inter the 1-0 win at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

“It’s the perfect evening because we won and it’s what we had to do. I knew that the goal had to arrive sooner or later, but the important thing is that we brought home the three points,” he told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

“The drought didn’t weigh on me, but it is true that when we play I don’t get much service. It’s a shame, as I am a striker and I can only score if the ball gets to me.

"In 10 games I received four decent passes and scored three goals. That seems like a good average to me.

“I’m sure we will improve on this before the end of the year. This season we have more players of individual quality and that in a way penalises me, but we all want what’s best for the team. We know we’re up there, we needed to get points here and it’s what we did.”

Inter are now Serie A leaders for at least 24 hours and face Roma at the weekend.

“It will be a difficult game against Roma, as we want to win, then last term it was a great match against them and we hope to do well again.”
