Former Roma defender Vincent Candela believes ‘it would be a disappointment’ for the Giallorossi not to win the Scudetto this season.
The capital club went into Week 10 of Serie A with a two point lead at the top, with pre-season favourites Juventus languishing in mid-table.
Tuttomercatoweb spoke to the former France international ahead of tonight’s clash between two of his former sides – Roma and Udinese.
“I believe in a Roma Scudetto and I’d say that it would be a disappointment not to win it,” he said.
“This year there are all the right components: a great team and a very good coach, a strong club and the usual great support at the Olimpico.
“This is a good year for the Scudetto.”
The 42-year-old also looked ahead to tonight’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico and backs the Lupi to get the three points.
“It will be a great game, with a lot of goals,” he said.
"Obviously I have great respect for Udinese, but my heart is with Roma.
“For this reason I’ll say that tonight the Giallorossi will win, it’s so important to continue on this path at the top.
"Hopefully (Edin Dzeko scores), but it’s not important who scores. The important thing is that Roma have consistency in their results.”
