Former Barcelona President Joan Laporta says that Inter were’ willing to meet’ Lionel Messi’s buyout clause during his reign.
The 53-year-old was in charge of the Catalan giants from 2003 to 2010 and revealed in an interview with RMC Sport that the Nerazzurri were interested in their Argentine wizard.
However, Laporta also underlined that any sale of the multiple Ballon D’Or winner was ‘impossible.’
“When I was President we received many offers for Messi from clubs, including Inter, that were willing to pay his buyout clause,” he said.
“But I always said that the sale of the Argentine was impossible.”
