Paul Pogba reportedly scrawled ‘+5’ on his Juventus 10 jersey on the advice of Leonardo Bonucci’s motivation coach.

The Frenchman had the writing in a felt pen on his shirt in a previous game, but it was said to read ‘75’ as a happy birthday message for Pele.

However, there is no doubting that it was ‘+5’ during the Derby della Mole, as he scored in the 2-1 victory over Torino.

However, there is no doubting that it was ‘+5’ during the Derby della Mole, as he scored in the 2-1 victory over Torino.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, this was suggested to Pogba by Alberto Ferrarrini, Bonucci’s former motivation coach.

It is to help the 22-year-old feel the responsibility of the iconic 10 less while he gets used to the situation.

Pogba wore 6 for most of his career and as captain of the France side that won the Under-20 World Cup in 2013.

This isn’t entirely new, as Inter striker Ivan Zamorano had ‘1+8’ printed on his jersey because Ronaldo already had 9.

While some fans feel Pogba should do whatever it takes to get performances like yesterday’s, others claim he is insulting the Number 10 shirt by changing it.
