The capital club announced yesterday that their influential Dutch centre-back would be out for six months following knee surgery, effectively ending his season.

The Biancocelesti have since been linked with Inter’s Nemanja Vidic and Georgi Terziev of Ludogorets Razgrad, but today a move for Rugani has been touted.

Sport Mediaset believe that the former Empoli defender is the first name on Lazio’s list as he is yet to make a league appearance for Juventus this season and wants game time.

However, the 21-year-old has also been strongly linked with a move to Napoli in January and a reunion with former Coach Maurizio Sarri.

The media outlet believes that a loan move is the most likely as it would suit both parties, with Juve allowing Rugani more minutes and Lazio gaining a reliable replacement for De Vrij.
