Andrea Mandorlini admits Verona “want to do more, but it’s just not happening” as his job hangs by a thread.

Hellas are the only side without a Serie A victory this season and were beaten 2-0 at home by Bologna.

“We had prepared well for this game, but when you’re 2-0 down after 15 minutes it becomes a real weight on you psychologically,” confessed Mandorlini on Sky Sport Italia.

“We had prepared well for this game, but when you’re 2-0 down after 15 minutes it becomes a real weight on you psychologically,” confessed Mandorlini on Sky Sport Italia.

“Luca Toni was Capocannoniere last season, so obviously his injury has been a huge blow for us, but aside from that if we haven’t won in 12 rounds then something is wrong.

“We are disappointed and sad. I would’ve liked to celebrate my five-year anniversary at Verona in a different way.

“The fans cheered us on to the end, the club couldn’t be closer to me and the squad. We all want to do more, but it’s just not happening.”

Verona are now said to be considering their options, as Sky Sport Italia tip Francesco Guidolin and Calciomercato.it suggest Davide Ballardini is the favourite.
