Edy Reja said Atalanta “dominated Milan on their own turf and did more than enough to win” this 0-0 draw.

The Orobici were hugely impressive at San Siro, but were unable to get the win thanks to the saves of 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“It’s a disappointing result, because we had four clear scoring opportunities and didn’t put the ball in the net,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We clearly deserved the victory. It was an excellent performance and it seems impossible to not win a game like this.

“Mattia De Sciglio should’ve been sent off in the first half. Maxi Moralez and Papu Gomez are players who can do damage when taking men on, they just need to be more consistent in front of goal.

“I am happy with the performance, but this draw does leave a bitter taste in our mouths, because we created more than enough to win.

“We wasted too many chances and dominated Milan on their own turf. We deserved more from this game.”

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi agreed and visited the locker room afterwards to compliment Atalanta, saying they “looked like the old Milan.”

“Berlusconi gave us a round of applause and said we had a great game. He acted as a great President and a gentleman. My players appreciated the gesture.”

This is at least a vast improvement on recent away performances, though they have only scored three goals on their travels in seven attempts.
