Sampdoria told Fiorentina they’re prepared to give up on Vincenzo Montella and seek another Coach if the €3m demands aren’t reduced.

The Blucerchiati sacked Walter Zenga on Tuesday and Montella is the first choice to take over.

However, he is still under contract with the Tuscans until June 2017 after being dismissed this summer.

The Blucerchiati sacked Walter Zenga on Tuesday and Montella is the first choice to take over.

However, he is still under contract with the Tuscans until June 2017 after being dismissed this summer.

There is a €5m release clause on the contract and the Viola reportedly agreed to lower it to €3m, but that is still considered too much by Sampdoria.

Sky Sport Italia now claim that Samp told Fiorentina they’ll wait until Wednesday evening for that €3m demand to be lowered.

If the deadline passes, they will look elsewhere for a Coach and in that case the most likely candidate is Gigi Del Neri.
