“It’s important to be aware of our own strength and that we can win a great deal with this generation,” the Roma midfielder told Rai Sport.

“We believe in ourselves because we know we’re strong, even if there are sides like Germany and Spain who are favourites. We can have our say at Euro 2016.

“Italy are a tough opponent who don’t give anything away and they can cause a lot of problems, but I don’t see them among the favourites.

“I believe the Final of Euro 2016 will be between Belgium and Spain.

“I expect this to be a good game to prepare for the Euros. I went all the way through the youth teams with many of my current teammates and it’s wonderful to play alongside so many who are the same age.”
