Sampdoria statement denies reports they have a deal with Vincenzo Montella, though he could be released by Fiorentina.

The Coach is their first choice to replace Walter Zenga, who was sacked on Tuesday, but is still under contract with the Viola.

So far they’ve refused to release Montella for less than €3m, but it’s reported today by multiple sources that he’ll be bought out of that contract for €2.2m and giving up on money owed.

There were also reports in Sky Sport Italia listing the figures of a contract with Sampdoria lasting until June 2018.

“UC Sampdoria want to make clear that we have not yet reached any agreement with Vincenzo Montella, so the figures circulated today by the media are absolutely without foundation,” read a statement.

Nonetheless, it’s widely believed Montella will be appointed Samp Coach tomorrow morning.
