Sampdoria and Southampton have reportedly been in talks with the agent of Napoli full-back Ivan Strinic about a January move.
The 28-year-old arrived at the San Paolo in January but has failed to break into the first team under Maurizio Sarri and is yet to make a league appearance this season.
Calciomercato.com has reported today that Inter were interested in signing the Croatian during the summer, but Napoli’s €15m price tag turned them towards Alex Telles instead.
The website believes that Samp are now the most interested Serie A side and that they have contacted Strinic’s agent Tonci Martic as well as the Partenopei.
The stumbling block at the moment is believed to be that the Blucerchiati want the left-back on loan, while Napoli want an outright sale.
The report also says that Martic was seen in talks with Southampton representatives at the WyScout forum in London, with Saints believed to be keen on bringing him to the Premier League.
