Gazzetta dello Sport  has reported today that the Catalan giants have been trailing the 25-year-old for some time and that Luis Enrique wants him at Camp Nou, having coached Pjanic with the Giallorrossi in 2011/12.

The newspaper says that the playmaker would take over playmaking responsibilities from long-time servant Xavi.

The club will reportedly set to work on Pjanic from January onwards, when their FIFA-imposed transfer embargo is lifted.

A summer bid is expected to arrive and Gazzetta believe that an offer of around €40m could tempt the capital club.

However, Pjanic still has three years to run on his €4m per season deal at the Stadio Olimpico.
