The Giallorossi were crushed in terms of goals, chances and possession, scoring only with the last kick of the game after Edin Dzeko had a penalty saved.

“We did nothing. We defended for 90 minutes and against a team that likes to keep the ball, that’s useless. We made mistakes and it could've been worse than 6-1,” Maicon told Mediaset Premium.

“It doesn’t change our objectives, we must continue along our path. We left huge spaces and got zero, it’s the opposite of how we usually play.

“We have to cancel what happened today and think of the next game.”

Roma still have a very good chance of qualifying for the next round, as they will go through with a win over BATE Borisov or even a draw if Bayer Leverkusen fail to beat Barcelona.
