Bayern Munich’s Medhi Benatia and Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega are reportedly Roma’s top two priorities for the January transfer market.
Il Messaggero writes today that sporting director Walter Sabatini has clear ideas about how he wants to progress in the market, with two full-backs, a centre-back and a midfielder to fill in for Kevin Strootman the targets.
The newspaper believes that for now Benatia, who was previously with the Giallorossi in 2013/14, is the defensive priority in the market.
The Moroccan has struggled with injuries so far this season and as a result has only made four league appearances this term.
Argentina international Banega is tipped by the paper to be a target to reinforce the midfield.
The 27-year-old’s contract with the La Liga outfit expires in June, meaning he could potentially leave for a cut-price fee in the winter window.
The playmaker has scored five times in 11 appearances in all competitions so far this season, including two Champions League goals against Borussia Monchengladbach.
