Juventus players nominated for FIFPro XI

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is among the names nominated for this year’s FIFPro World XI.

The award involves votes from nearly 25,000 professional footballers from 70 different countries. They select one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.

The Bianconeri’s Paul Pogba and Giorgio Chiellini have also been shortlisted, along with Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal, who left the club this summer.

Italian international Marco Verratti has also been nominated, following his exploits for Paris Saint-Germain in the last year.

The final team will be announced at the Ballon d’Or award ceremony, with Buffon controversially not nominated for that prize.
