Rudi Garcia resisted blaming the referee for Roma’s 1-1 draw with Torino. “This result is also our fault.”

Miralem Pjanic’s free kick cross floated straight in, but deep into stoppages Kostas Manolas brought down Andrea Belotti for a Maxi Lopez penalty.

“Obviously this draw is also our fault. When we are so close to the end of the game, we have to control the situation better and we could’ve scored a second goal,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Obviously this draw is also our fault. When we are so close to the end of the game, we have to control the situation better and we could’ve scored a second goal,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Before blaming someone else, we have to look at what we did wrong. Having said that, looking at the footage it seems as if Manolas made a clean tackle and put the ball out for a corner.

“It is unfortunate to lose two points this way. Now we must concentrate on the next game, there is nothing more to do.

“We know it’s always difficult tactically against Torino, but in the first half we were ‘in recovery’ and didn’t make an impact. We improved as time went on and broke the deadlock from a set play.

“We could’ve controlled the situation better and put ourselves in a position where we’d be safe even with a late error.

“You just had to be in the locker room after the game to see the anger. Some were shouting and saying it wasn’t possible. They were very disappointed, as am I, but we have to look forward.

“It’s good that we proved once again we are a team who fight for the result and now we can work on the things that need improving.

“It was the performance I expected, with determination and hard work. We know Torino wait for your error to go on the counter, so it required patience. Apart from an early move with Wojciech Szczesny’s save, we didn’t allow them any real chances like that.”

Gervinho made his comeback after two weeks out with a muscular injury, but suffered a relapse within 25 minutes.

“We’ll see for him and Vasilis Torosidis tomorrow, as they had these muscular problems. Gervinho had healed and was only meant to play the first half.

“We hope it’s nothing major for both of them, as we need all hands on deck right now. Do I regret picking him? No, I trust what my doctors tell me.

“Our objective is to fight for the top and we’ve dropped another two points. The lads proved they are all 200 per cent concentrated on Serie A and we must take our chances to win the game.”
