“Icardi has to relax and wait for his opportunity, as during the game the team could need him and if he scores we’re all happy,” Zanetti told Mediaset Premium.

“Roberto Mancini wants everyone in the squad to work hard and he’s absolutely right. We need to recover the ball as quickly as possible and go on the counter.

“Aside from the result against Napoli, that performance gave us real confidence in our abilities. Tonight we must win to forget that loss and stay near the top.

“I get the feeling the Napoli game was a turning point and we really will fight to the end for the Scudetto. The lads know what they are capable of, so with the faith of the club and fans we can dream of something important.

“We thought of building a solid team, which is why we signed Joao Miranda, the experienced captain of Brazil, and Jeison Murillo, who is proving his quality.

“The fact the team concedes few goals is also thanks to the hard work of the other players who sacrifice themselves for the side.”
