Adem Ljajic “hopes Roma regret me” after scoring the winner for Inter against Genoa, his second goal in as many games.

The Serbian forward had not found the net in back-to-back Serie A matches since November 2014.

“This goal really matters and is worth three points, so it’s more important. We knew that we had to win tonight and played our football against a very tough side, as Genoa challenge you one-on-one all over the pitch,” he told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset Premium.

“We did very well in the first half too and Mattia Perin performed a great save on my shot. It was decisive that we win this evening.

“We’ll take it one game at a time and then we’ll see where we end up.”

Ljajic has always been rather inconsistent at Fiorentina and then Roma, but seems to have found his form at Inter.

“I try to train hard every day and when the games arrive I work to help the team. Sometimes I manage it better than others, but I always try. At the moment I am physically in good shape and hope to continue like this.

“Will I stay at Inter? The clubs will discuss it between themselves. I am happy and try to help the team.

“Do Roma regret me? I hope so.”
