Totti set for extension?

Reports say Francesco Totti is ready to extend his Roma contract by one year, ensuring he will play into his forties.

The Giallorossi captain’s current deal is due to expire in June 2016, but Corriere dello Sport write today that he has assured the club he will still be of use for another season.

The newspaper believes that an agreement with President James Pallotta will be easily reached but that an official announcement won’t be made until he has returned from injury.

The 39-year-old has been sidelined with a thigh injury for most of this season and has only made three Serie A appearances so far.
