“In the locker room after the final whistle Sarri was furious that we conceded that goal in stoppages,” El Kaddouri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We relaxed after scoring the fifth goal and he hates these things, so made it immediately clear to the whole team.

“The Coach made us understand that we needed a strong performance and reaction from us so we could arrive in the right frame of mind to face Roma this weekend.

“It was a positive performance, apart from the two goals conceded. Obviously playing without a centre-forward we all alternated in that role, without giving defenders a reference point. That also created space for the midfielders to push forward.

“Tonight we will celebrate with Gonzalo Higuain for his birthday, but probably just a meal at a restaurant, nothing too big because on Sunday we’ve got Roma.”
