Belgium Coach Marc Wilmots said they are “favourites with Italy” to progress from “tough” Euro 2016 Group E.

They were paired with Sweden and the Republic of Ireland in what has already been called the Group of Death.

“This is obviously a tough draw,” confessed Wilmots on UEFA.com.

“A group of death? No, those do not exist – it's a tough draw, nothing more. Ireland we should be able to beat, Sweden we also can beat, so I think the first match against Italy will be the toughest.

“But the first two progress in the group, and Belgium and Italy are favourites.”

Belgium and Italy already faced off in a friendly last month, the Red Devils emerging 3-1 winners after an early Antonio Candreva goal.

The Azzurri begin their campaign against Belgium on June 13 in Lyon.

They then take on Sweden in Toulouse on June 17 and finish with Ireland in Lille on June 22.
