Milan are considering a move for Juventus defender Martin Caceres, according to reports.

The 28-year-old was suspended by the Bianconeri earlier this season after a car crash in Turin, and though he has returned to the squad, Coach Massimiliano Allegri has not selected him.

The Uruguayan is out of contract at the end of the season, and it has been reported that the Old Lady are not keen to offer him an extension.

According to Mediaset, Milan are looking for defensive cover, and have been alerted to the situation with Caceres.

The news outlet believes Philippe Mexes could be allowed to join Fiorentina in January, with Caceres representing an experienced replacement.

The defender can play at full-back or centre-back, but has not made an appearance for Juve since the draw with Chievo in September.
