Ezequiel Lavezzi 'wants to play in Italy', says his agent, but a renewal with Paris Saint-Germain looks 'likely'.

The former Napoli superstar has been touted for a Serie A return on numerous occasions, and with his contract set to expire this summer, the major Serie A clubs are holding their breaths.

“In football everything is possible, and PSG have a very strong team,” the player's agent Alejandro Mazzoni told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, when asked whether the player would renew his contract. “The Pocho's contract is set to expire, and if he doesn't renew, he'll be free to talk to other clubs in February.

“He misses Italian football a lot and he wants to go back to Italy. President [Aurelio] De Laurentiis was clear that he didn't want his return to Napoli. The Azzurri have a strong team.

“Right now we can't speculate on a turn of mind, but we'll see. Napoli loves El Pocho, I can see that from social media too.

“Barcelona? [Leo] Messi and El Pocho are great friends, but I don't think he'll move in January.

“I know that supporters would be surprised to see him wearing the Juventus colours, but he still has two-three years of great football in his legs and he wants to play at the highest levels.

“He left his heart in Naples and he'd come a-running, but it takes two for a wedding.

“The President is right to pursue this policy for his club. Between Italy and England, Lavezzi would choose Italy.”
