The Viola saw off Chievo 2-0 today, having lost two games in a week between Serie A and Coppa Italia.

“We are doing well, showing confidence and passion today,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“Our style of football has quality and therefore expectations are raised. This is why a draw or a defeat hurt us.

“I am happy for the lads and we’ve always been clear, as I told them we could compete at all levels. We have our limitations and we know that, but these wins give us the opportunity to stay in the top three.

“Now we must all give something extra to maintain that consistency. We will rest above all psychologically over this break, because the mental stress is strong.”

Sousa hinted there will be reinforcements during the January transfer window.

“In order to maintain this quality and consistency, the club also has to give something more. We all know that. Now we’ll think about resting and then we’ll face the games that await us.”
