Sampdoria patron Massimo Ferrero would take Giuseppe Rossi from Fiorentina “if they paid his wages.”

The striker is looking for a loan spell in the second half of the season to rediscover his form after such a long time out injured.

He could be reunited with his former Viola Coach Vincenzo Montella, now at Sampdoria.

“Rossi is a player of great talent, a real champion,” Ferrero told Firenzeviola.it.

He could be reunited with his former Viola Coach Vincenzo Montella, now at Sampdoria.

“If Fiorentina were prepared to pay his wages, I’d gladly bring him here. I’d have to talk it over with Montella first. If he gave the all-clear, then why not?

“It has to be said, we don’t want to pay certain sums, but if it’s about getting the best out of a player then Samp are more than happy to fill that role. Last season we did a similar thing for Roma with Alessio Romagnoli.”

Ferrero was also asked whether Fiorentina could get an option on Roberto Soriano as part of the deal.

“I know that Paulo Sousa really likes Soriano, but Juventus feel the same way. No Samp player is for sale. If he or any of the other players are of interest to clubs, the other Presidents must get into contact with me to ask for them.”
