Giuseppe Rossi’s agent said he’ll “99 per cent leave Fiorentina in January,” but Bologna pull out of the race.
The forward has now recovered from a series of devastating knee injuries, but the on-form Viola can’t give him the amount of regular playing time he needs in this situation.
“The club has realised it cannot keep hold of the lad because he wants to play,” agent Federico Pastorello told Radio Marte.
“He will 99 per cent leave Fiorentina in January.”
Sampdoria and Bologna had been considered the favourites for a loan spell, but today the Rossoblu ruled themselves out.
“Roberto Donadoni plays 4-3-3 and Rossi wouldn’t have much space in that system, because we already have Mattia Destro,” Bologna director of sport Pantaleo Corvino told Lady Radio.
“The quality of the player is not up for debate, but he is not part of our plans.”
Italian and English sides are also willing to bring Pepito in on loan, but he seems intent on a Serie A club.
