Davide Santon “won’t listen” to transfer rumours of a Premier League return. “I am at Inter and I want to stay here.”
The defender started his career in their youth academy and was sold to Newcastle United in 2011, only to return in 2015.
“I am at Inter and I want to stay here,” he told FCInterNews.it in Qatar after West Ham stories.
“There are rumours, but I won’t listen to any of them. I repeat, I want to stay here. It’s my birthday this week, so I’d like to ask for Champions League qualification and maybe even the Scudetto dream.”
Santon was speaking after a 1-0 friendly defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
“I think it was a fine game against a great side. The tempo wasn’t very high, but that is normal after a week off. We’re back training intensely and more than a proper match I’d call this a useful training session.
“President Erick Thohir said he was happy, but we are only halfway through the season. There are so many more games to play and this was a good test for the return of Serie A action.”
