The Italo-Argentine has been heavily linked with Juventus and Milan, but the club won’t release him mid-season.

“I am dreaming of a place at Euro 2016 with Italy, but first I have to concentrate on doing well with Palermo,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think the Nazionale arrives as a consequence of what players do at club level. I’ve been at Palermo for three years now, I have matured both as a player and as a man. I am a different person to the one who first arrived in 2012.

“Being at Palermo was a very important part of my growth process. I will certainly stay here until the end of the season, then we’ll see.

“Clearly like every player I want to go to a more important club so I can improve and also set bigger objectives like winning silverware.

“Right now I don’t want to think about the future, because it would only be counter-productive.”
