Giampaolo: 'Inter win ugly'

Marco Giampaolo notes “all the teams who beat Inter played good football” and hopes Empoli can be the next victors.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“This will be a difficult game against a side that manages to win even when not dominating, so that is an aspect that must not be underestimated,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Inter have quality in the individuals and a strong physical presence, which makes them able to win ‘ugly’ games, and that’s not easy.

“The Nerazzurri only lost to Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina – three teams who play good football. We cannot escape from the fact we are built to play good football, but that might not be enough to beat Inter.

“This is certainly a big test for us after recent good performances. We are facing the most clinical and physical side in the League and must find the self-belief as a unit as well as individuals.

“There mustn’t be arrogance in looking at our status in the table, as what we’ve done so far is down to humility, so we’ve got to face Inter with the same attitude. We know there’s an abyss between the two clubs.

“What I ask of my men is always the performance first and hopefully the result will come as a consequence of that.”

Empoli have some absentees, as Lorenzo Tonelli and Levan Mchedlidze are sidelined.
