Sassuolo are considering a €15m (£11.2m) Crystal Palace offer for striker Gregoire Defrel.
Sky Sport Italia and SportItalia both claim the Premier League side is sending scouts to view the Frenchman in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Inter.
Palace seem determined to get a Serie A striker during the January transfer window, having already seen proposals for Juventus man Simone Zaza (a reported €27m) and Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar rejected.
In this case, Sassuolo would be very likely to accept the offer, because 24-year-old Defrel is not guaranteed regular playing time.
He joined from Cesena for €7m over the summer, having grown up in the Parma youth academy.
This season Defrel scored two goals and provided one assist in 16 Serie A appearances, but several of those were off the bench.
