Atalanta have joined Genoa in chasing a loan spell for Milan winger Alessio Cerci, but it depends on Atletico Madrid.
The Italy international is still owned by Atleti, but was sent to Milan on an extended 18-month loan deal.
Now the Rossoneri consider him surplus to requirements and are eager to send him elsewhere in Serie A for the next six months.
Cerci was left out of the squad travelling to Roma for tonight’s game, as it’s reported he was seen gambling at a casino late into the night after their 1-0 home defeat to Bologna.
Atletico Madrid already rejected a potential move to Genoa, as confirmed by Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.
Sky Sport Italia claim Atalanta are now proposing they take Cerci for the rest of the season and hope to convince the Spanish club that it would be in their interests.
It would be a return, as Cerci wore the Atalanta jersey in 2008-09.
