British media are reporting that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has rejected Manchester City in favour of a move to Barcelona next summer.

The Catalan giants face Pogba’s Bianconeri in the Champions League final on Saturday, but have had a transfer embargo imposed on them until June 2016.

However, the Daily Star has reported that Pogba is willing to turn down an offer from the Citizens, which would make him one of the world’s highest-paid midfielders, and stay in Turin for another year.

However, the Daily Star has reported that Pogba is willing to turn down an offer from the Citizens, which would make him one of the world’s highest-paid midfielders, and stay in Turin for another year.

The newspaper claims that Barca have identified the France international as a long-term replacement for Xavi and that a source has confirmed his interest in a switch.

“His options are unbelievable if he wants to leave Juventus, but he’s told friends that Barcelona are his no.1 choice. The attraction is obvious,” the unnamed source told Starsport.

Barcelona were handed a 14-month transfer ban in April after being found guilty of breaching FIFA rules on the transfer of players under 18.

However, the 22-year-old is believed to be willing to wait and could stay at the Old Lady for another season, turning down a €62m package from Man City in the process.
