“If the El Shaarawy move to Roma does go through, it will be on loan with option to buy,” said Galliani.

“It is absolutely not done. We need to find a solution between Monaco, Milan and Roma. At this moment we have not yet reached an agreement with Monaco.”

There have been reports the option will become mandatory after just five appearances for the Giallorossi.

He was on loan at Monaco with an option that would be activated after 25 games, but the Little Pharaoh played only 24 times.

El Shaarawy is on the way out because Luiz Adriano returned from Jiangsu Suning, having previously agreed a €14m move.

“There are many offers for Luiz Adriano, including Galatasaray, but he is not for sale and we are keeping him.”

Galliani also confirmed negotiations with River Plate for full-back Vangioni.

“Vangioni’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and we are confident of getting him for July 1, but if we reach an agreement with River Plate then he could arrive now. It doesn’t look as if River are open to that right now, but we are negotiating.”
