Newcastle aren’t the only Premier League side after Seydou Doumbia, as Aston Villa also want the Roma striker.

The Ivory Coast international returned from a six-month loan spell at CSKA Moscow and is not part of their plans.

He has been linked with Fenerbahce and Olympique Marseille, while this afternoon Newcastle United emerged as contenders.

Now Calciomercato.it claims Aston Villa have made an offer to take Doumbia on loan with option to buy for €9m (£6.85m).
